It is in the context of the UNIDO International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF) 2026 that the Industry Clean‑Tech Platform (ICTP) is officially introduced to its community of stakeholders. As global leaders convene in Vienna under the theme “Powering Prosperity, Security and Stability”, ICTP responds directly to IVECF’s call for actionable solutions that reduce inequalities, stimulate competitive industrialisation and support a green, decarbonised transformation of economies.

Where Supply Meets Demand for Clean Industrial Technologies

Developed under the Energy Efficiency for Sustainable Livelihoods in Africa (EELA) Program, implemented by UNIDO and funded by the Government of Sweden, ICTP is conceived as a one‑stop‑shop for energy‑efficient and low‑carbon industrial technologies. The platform brings together African industries and clean‑tech providers in a single digital environment, bridging the gap between demand for energy‑efficient solutions and supply from proven technology providers, and accelerating the uptake of sustainable industrial solutions.

For industrial actors, ICTP offers access to reliable technologies, expert support and financing opportunities tailored to operational needs. For clean‑tech providers, the platform creates structured and credible entry points to African markets, helping to reduce information asymmetries, transaction costs and investment risks.

Beyond information‑sharing, ICTP integrates technical assistance, access to funding and risk‑mitigation instruments, supported by advisory boards and technical working groups. This governance framework ensures that the platform remains responsive to industry needs while maintaining strong technical credibility and partner ownership.

ICTP at IVECF 2026

The ICTP will be officially presented on Thursday 9 April during an EELA Deep‑Dive Session at IVECF 2026, marking a key moment for the Program alongside major announcements, including EELA’s expansion to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and the anticipated signing of a Joint Declaration between UNIDO and the Swedish Energy Agency, reinforcing long‑term institutional cooperation.

A wide range of ICTP stakeholders will convene in Vienna for the platform’s soft launch, bringing together African and European industrial and energy agencies. The session will highlight EELA’s technological, social and economic impact, while exploring concrete pathways for scaling regional clean‑manufacturing ecosystems.
